“Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Honorable leaders, distinguished guests, brothers and sisters of the MNLF, and the beloved people of Bangsamoro,
Today, we gather not just as individuals, but as a family—united by a common history, a shared struggle, and a collective dream. The slogan of this grand reunion, ‘One MNLF-One Bangsamoro,’ is not merely words; it is a call to action, a reminder of our identity, and a beacon for our future.
Decades ago, the MNLF was born out of the need to stand for justice, dignity, and the right to self-determination for the Bangsamoro people. Our journey has been marked by sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering faith. We have faced trials, celebrated victories, and learned invaluable lessons. Today, as we look back, let us honor the sacrifices of our martyrs and the dedication of our leaders. Their courage has brought us to this moment—a moment where the Bangsamoro is no longer just a dream, but a reality we are shaping together.
The strength of the MNLF has always been in its unity. When we stand together, we are unstoppable. ‘One MNLF-One Bangsamoro’ means: One Vision: A peaceful, prosperous, and autonomous Bangsamoro. One Struggle: To uplift every member of our community, leaving no one behind. One Voice: Speaking with clarity and conviction for our rights and aspirations. Unity does not mean uniformity. It means embracing our diversity—our different tribes, traditions, and talents—and weaving them into a stronger, more vibrant tapestry.
While we celebrate our achievements, we must also acknowledge the challenges that remain. Poverty, inequality, and external threats still loom. But let us remember: the same spirit that brought us this far will carry us forward. We must: 1. Strengthen Internal Solidarity: Resolve differences through dialogue, not division. 2. Engage the Youth: Empower the next generation to carry the torch with wisdom and innovation. 3. Collaborate with Partners: Work with the government, civil society, and international allies to build a sustainable future.
Brothers and sisters, the time for action is now. Let this reunion be more than a celebration—let it be a recommitment. To the Leaders: Lead with integrity, humility, and a heart for service. To the Members: Stay vigilant, participate actively, and uphold the values of the MNLF. To the Community: Support one another, for the success of one is the success of all. In the words of our beloved founder, ‘The struggle is not for ourselves alone, but for the generations to come.’ Let us leave here today with renewed purpose, knowing that One MNLF-One Bangsamoro is not just a slogan—it is our destiny. Wa Billahi Tawfiq Wal Hidaya Wassalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.”
Adding crucial political context, Parliament Deputy Speaker Atty. Omar Yasser C. Sema, MNLF/BaPa Legal Officer, provided an essential Update/Orientation on the 1st Parliamentary Election in BARMM 2025. His address equipped attendees with vital information regarding the upcoming electoral process, emphasizing the importance of political engagement in shaping the future of the autonomous region.
The event concluded with the powerful Reading of the Manifesto/Declaration: Declaration of MNLF Unity & Solidarity. This declaration encapsulated the collective commitments of the MNLF:
- A Call for Unity: Reaffirming that strength lies in diversity and mutual respect.
- Solidarity for Lasting Peace: Advocating for justice, equity, and opportunity for all.
- Vigilance Against Threats to Stability: Committing to monitor socio-political challenges, protect the vulnerable, and advocate for inclusive development, including the re-inclusion of the province of Sulu to BARMM.
- Building Resilient Communities: Strengthening institutions, empowering individuals, and fostering cultural bonds.
- Cooperation for Collective Progress: Calling for collaboration among all stakeholders.
- A Pledge to Future Generations: Vowing to leave a legacy of hope, resilience, and unwavering commitment to justice.
The MNLF Grand Reunion and Solidarity event was a powerful demonstration of unity, resolve, and a clear roadmap for the future. The spirit of “One MNLF-One Bangsamoro” will undoubtedly guide the organization and its allies as they navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead in building a prosperous and peaceful Bangsamoro.
